Writing a memoir is an act of courage and trust. You are sharing your most personal memories — your childhood, your family, your losses, your joys. We do not take that lightly.
Your writing is yours. We are here to guide you, support you, and help you shape your story into something beautiful. We are not here to own it, share it, or profit from it in any way beyond the service you have paid for.

Our Commitments
Six things we promise every writer

Your writing is never shared
No one outside of you and The Blue Sky Project team will ever read your memoir content — not other users, not third parties, not anyone. Your words stay between us.

Your writing is never sold
We will never sell, license, or transfer your memoir content to any other company, platform, or individual. Ever. Under any circumstances.

Your writing is never used to train AI
The AI technology powering your memoir guide uses the Anthropic API, which does not use your conversations to train its models. Your memories are not data points — they are your life.

Team access is your choice
The Blue Sky Project team only accesses your writing if you choose formatting and delivery of your finished book. If you only use the writing tool and don't request delivery, your content remains yours and yours alone.

Your data is stored securely
Your memoir content is stored in a secure, encrypted database (Supabase). It is not accessible to the public and is protected by industry-standard security protocols.

You can request deletion at any time
If you ever want your memoir content permanently deleted from our systems, simply email us at
hello@theblueskyproject.org and we will delete it within 7 days — no questions asked.

Data Retention
How long we keep your data
We believe your memoir content should not live on our servers any longer than necessary. Here is exactly what happens to your data from start to finish:

While you are writing
Your memoir content is saved securely in our database so you can return and continue at any time. Only you have access during this phase.

When you sign off on completion
When your memoir is complete, you will be asked to sign off on a Completion Page in the app — confirming you are happy with your finished work. This starts your 30-day retention window.

30 days after completion
Your memoir content is stored for 30 days after your sign-off — giving you time to download your finished book, request any final changes, or simply keep a copy. After 30 days, all content is permanently deleted from our servers.

7-day warning before deletion
We will send you an email reminder 7 days before your content is permanently deleted — so you are never caught off guard. You can download your book or extend your window by contacting us.

Delete your account anytime
You don't have to wait 30 days. At any point during your memoir journey — or after completion — you can delete your account and all associated data instantly from within the app. No forms, no waiting, no questions asked.
